How to play

Slide the whole board with the arrow keys, WASD, or a swipe on mobile. Every tile moves as far as it can in that direction, and two touching tiles of the same animal merge into the next one up the ladder — egg into hatchling, hatchling into mouse, and so on up to a dragon and beyond. Each move also drops one new tile onto the board, so the grid never sits still for long.

It's endless: reaching Dragon pops a one-time banner, but the run keeps going after that — Phoenix and Unicorn are there for anyone who wants to push further. The game ends only when the board is completely full and no move would merge anything.

Tips for a higher score

Pick one corner and try to keep your biggest tile pinned there — if it keeps drifting to the middle, your board runs out of safe moves much faster.
Avoid a move that breaks your largest row or column's descending order just to grab one small merge — a messy board is what actually ends runs early.
When you're stuck, look for the move that opens the most empty cells, not the one that merges the most tiles right now.

Does my game save if I close the tab?

Yes — Ani-Merge is the one game here that saves your board automatically after every move. Close the tab, come back tomorrow, and you'll be exactly where you left off.

Is there a leaderboard?

Not yet — right now Ani-Merge tracks your personal best score locally. A shared leaderboard (using the same in-game name as Zoo Rogue) is planned.

What's the highest tier?

Unicorn, thirteen tiers up from Egg — though the board will almost certainly fill up before you ever see one.
